Raising money for people with acquired brain injuries

Our gig on 13 August 2022 raised £308.76 in support of Headway.

Headway Gloucestershire was established to respond to the needs of acquired brain injury survivors, their families and carers in Gloucestershire. They provide long term therapeutic care in the years following a brain injury by providing the following services:

Specialist day re-enablement service

Where people can meet others who have experienced similar problems while introducing structure and learning opportunities to help individuals achieve their goals and maximise their independence.

Community links

Headway’s community link advisers will provide support to anyone in Gloucestershire who has had an acquired brain injury. This may include working closely with their family, friends, employers, colleagues and carers.

Remote service

Headway has developed a remote support service during the pandemic, to enable them to safely support brain injury survivors who may be unable to attend their centre, as they continue to work towards recovery goals. The includes staffing a helpline, providing welfare calls, tailoring activity packs, hosting activities on a digital platform, doorstep drops, crisis intervention and safeguarding actions.

Social and support groups

Headway facilitates a range of meetings and support groups to enable individuals with acquired brain injury, their families and carers to meet new people, share experiences, support one another and learn more about brain injury

The £308.76 we raised will help Headway to work closely with Gloucestershire’s survivors of brain injury as they adapt to the unwelcome change and work hard on their recovery.
